This training camp is all about swimming and running! A week full of swim and run training and adventures exploring the beautiful trails and crystal clear waters that the stunning island of Brac offers. With highly experienced coaches, the swim and run sessions are tailored to you and your training goals to make sure you get the most out of this week. 

 

We welcome guests coming for triathlon training or those coming for swimming or running solely. Come and focus on a single sport for the week or dabble in a range of sports as much or as little as you please.

 

There will be a full training programme for both the running and swimming elements throughout the week for guests to choose from. Guests are also welcome to use our mountain bikes (we provide a range of mountain bikes free to use included in your camp price) or bring their own bikes if they wish to add cycling into the week of training. 

 

Your coaches for this camp are experts in the fields of running, swimming, cycling and triathlon. See below for more information of each of your coaches for this camp.

SWIM:

 

Located in the most fantastic crystal clear bay it is a safe training ground for open water swimming, to practice skills (open water skills, race entry, transition and technique), do specific sessions (time trials and speed swims) but also venture further afield to our neighbouring bays on longer endurance swims.

 

Swim conditions in the bay are ideal. The water is still and of incredibly high water quality. Access to the water is easy with space to leave kit.

 

There is plenty of marine life to view such as sea cucumbers, star fish, coral, fish and even dolphin!

 

 

BIKE:

 

Brać has a vast range of signposted cycling routes and is a regular place for cycling groups to explore.

 

We offer road and trail guided rides, flatter and hillier options and a range of longer rides and shorter rides so plenty of choice to suit your training. Feel free to additionally just hop on our LSB bikes for your own explorations at a leisurely pace with a stop for coffee!

 

We have a range of mountain bikes which are complimentary for guest to use and included in your camp price. Guests are welcome to bring their own bikes additionally. 

 

 

RUN:

 

Brać is a runners playground! Straight from the door you can hop on trails in all directions-through beautiful forest, along soft dusty tracks, quiet lanes and sign posted routes that cross cross the entire island. 

 

Being located right on the coast, our villa leads you straight on to a long coastal trail with endless sea views winding all the way to the highest point on the island, Vidova Gora... an absolute gem of a route. 

 

Through your stay on this camp we will offer speed sessions, hilly trail runs, short relaxed easy runs and technique sessions and longer adventure runs exploring further afield. A week full of running adventures!

TRAINING IN CROATIA

Croatia is fast becoming known as one of the world’s best locations for sport-swimming, biking and running. Warm weather, blue skies, a multitude of trails and tracks and a backdrop of incredible natural scenery it makes for a beautiful backdrop for land training- be it on bike or on foot. With warm calm seas this is an ideal training ground for open water swimmers. Further to this, the Croatian islands with their numerous quiet bays and interesting topography, are the place to go for a great swimming adventure.

 

Our camps are held in a picturesque and secluded bay making for a perfect training camp base to focus on all things swim-bike-run! Quick and easy access to the open water, a mere 50 metres away, instant assess to endless trails to run on and incredible sign posted dirt tracks routes and quiet road bike routes for those wanting to cycle. 

 

The camps held in spring (ideal timing getting you race ready and confident pre-season) or in autumn (to build and develop of skills post season extending the summer sunshine in luxurious style), all under the guidance of experts.

 

Not only will athletes staying at these training camps have an incredible week of training under guidance of a range of coaches but they will enjoy down time staying in complete luxury 5* accommodation.

 

Non-training guests welcome or guests who want to just stick to a few sessions during the week-it is YOUR camp

YOUR COACHES

Professor Greg Whyte OBE - SWIM COACH

 

Greg Whyte’s bio speaks for itself-an Olympian, European and World medalist, multiple master champion in pool and open water swimming, Professor of sports and exercise science and THE man behind Sport & Comic Relief Challenges. He understands this sport inside and out and is truly an expert in the field. He applies all this depth of knowledge to each and every athlete he works with ensuring they all maximise their own potential and enjoyment. His passion and enthusiasm for swimming is infectious. Not only will athletes staying at these training camps have an incredibly fun swimming holiday but under Greg’s guidance they can develop and work on a multitude of areas such as; pool and open water skills and confidence, stroke technique, endurance swim training and speed development, swim specific strength and condition and advice on kit, nutrition, race prep and execution.

Gemma Carter - RUN COACH and LSB Team Leader

A full time running coach for over 15 years with a passion for watching people grow and achieve their goals.

 

After gaining her Bsc in Psychology, then specialising in sports psychology, she qualified and worked as a personal trainer in Central London, before setting up companies; CarterCoaching and LondonRunningCoach to focus specifically on her passion for running, particularly trail and long distance.


 

A competitive runner since the age of 11, competing on the track, she then went on to do her first marathon at 19 quickly progressing into ultras and then trail/mountain running with a very successful career of international wins and course records so far. Representing her country at the 100km distance and compete against the best in the world on trails around the world internationally have both given her immense pride. Olivia Ross-Hurst - TRIATHLON COACH

A former international track and field athlete, Olivia started out as a sprinter before turning to the heptathlon, and more recently, triathlon. After many years training and racing, in 2016 she turned her attention to coaching, working with Adidas to set up the Adidas Runners London community. As an Adidas Runners Captain, Olivia works both with our core community as well as our women’s community, planning and leading run sessions for large groups of runners of all levels and abilities. Olivia is passionate about the life changing power of sport and dedicated to making it accessible to everyone, regardless of background or level.

 

Also a qualified Personal Trainer and BTF Level 2 Triathlon Coach, in 2017 she launched her own triathlon coaching business, Meraki, offering one-to-one triathlon and single sport coaching from beginner to advanced-level athletes. Olivia also delivers group coaching sessions with triathlon clubs in southwest London, as well as pre-season training camps in Mallorca and Lanzarote.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION

  • Some smaller shops and bakeries in local island towns only accept Kuna and not Euros (Euros from January 2023!) so come prepared. There are many ATM’s a short walk down the road in town.

  • Please let us know of any allergies or specific dietary requirements-we are happy to help ensure you are catered for.

  • We ideally ask guests to arrive during the morning through to middle of the day to allow enough time in the afternoon for the welcome tour and to settle in. Departures from the villas should be by 10am but you are welcome to explore Brac further before your transfer or head to Split for sight seeing before your flight.
